Overview:Now Hiring, Cash Room ClerkHyattsville, MDTransdev Services, Inc. is hiring a Cash Room Attendant at its Hyattsville, MD facility. The ideal candidate will handle various financial and clerical tasks associated with the cash flow at the facility. Responsibilities include: counting the cash room safe by hand or machine, cross-referencing against the safe's log; counting out money for the day and logs where and to whom they distribute the monies to; wraps cash and coins in preparation of requests for change; monitors cash levels, and makes bank deposits daily.Come join the largest private-sector operator of public transportation in North America - one that cares about its employees, passengers, and their communities.Why Work for Us?$18.00 hourly!Paid health benefits!Paid time off!Holiday pay!401(k)!Annual increases based on performance!Career advancement opportunities!Being appreciated as a valuable member of a great team!Responsibilities:Protects Company operations by keeping sensitive information confidential.Maintains balanced vault inventory by auditing and counting petty cash monies three times daily.Reconciles cash sheets by comparing to the counted receipts.Works with local management to ensure that money is processed depending on local requirements.Controls assigned company funds and communicate all questionable transactions and/or documentation to the Controller and/or General Manager.Verifies, records and witnesses cash amounts turned in by associates who have responsibility for cash handling.Completes applicable documentation accurately and according to corporate policies and procedures as well as reviews for accuracy and proper completion of all documentation completed by others.Orders, maintains and distributes change according to branch needs.Prepares funds for Brinks pick up.Prepares deposits in accordance with company policies and procedures for Brinks pickup.Uses manual or mechanical means to count and verify cashier drops.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:High School education plus two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience from which knowledge and skill has been acquired.Good basic skills in math, basic understanding of banking/bookkeeping methods.Must be a team player yet able to work well independently.Proficiency using Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook, Excel or Access and PowerPoint).Knowledge of accounting and data entry.Excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written a must.Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be able to prioritize workload, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.Detail oriented, well organized, and possess effective time management skills.Self-starter and highly motivated.Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers on all levels.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by the employee to successful perform the essential functions of this job.
