Job Description:

7+ years of experience as a hands-on Network Engineer building, implementing, and supporting network hardware and devices*
experience building and configuring ACI within a Data Center
*Network Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for building, implementing, and supporting Network and Data Center solutions. If this person has experience with Cloud technologies or ACI, that would be a huge plus.
2 days /week on-site in Silver Spring, MD (main hospital in DC but Children's National took over a floor in Silver Spring, MD)
--- Technical Environment / Projects
--- Implementing ACI within their data centers
Data Center locations
--- Data Center located in Washington, DC at the main hospital
--- Moving Data Center workloads to Equinix Data Center in VA
--- Setting up Disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS)- facility located in Pittsburgh, PA
--- o Setting up express routes and connectivity to the Cloud within AWS, OCI, and Azure
Network Engineer will be responsible to lead engineering services for network hardware and software, planning system maintenance and support and also develop system management strategies for a variety of network platforms. Responsible to plan and implement necessary hardware and software upgrades proactively. Directly responsible to monitor and maintain network infrastructure and services. Responsible to ensure the operation of a variety of network environments. Provide support and management for multiple network infrastructure systems. Responsible to provide precise, detailed documentation regarding the various network environments for the change control process and the technical documentation repository.

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science (Required) Or Relevant experience in network engineering beyond the minimum required work experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a 1-1 ratio i.e. one year of relevant work experience equals one year of required education.
Minimum Work Experience
--- Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
--- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
--- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
--- Provide Level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
System Integration/ Implementation
--- Engineer and build and maintain network platforms and services.
--- Integrate network products into existing network technologies.
--- Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, routers, switches, controllers
--- System/Project Planning
--- Engineer and deploy network infrastructure systems design and configuration.
--- Participate in design of Disaster recovery planning.
--- Assist in the development of network solutions.
--- Performs hardware and network diagnosis.
--- ability to recognize a problem and construct an effective solution compatible with overall company operations.
Demonstrate understanding of standard networking protocols, virtual environments, and hybrid cloud.
--- Provide technical support and consultation to IS staff.
