Position: Security Engineer IILocation: Washington, DC
(Potential for Hybrid)Clearance: Public TrustMust hold an active
Public Trust clearance to apply.Overall Purpose of PositionThe
Security Engineer II is responsible for evaluating, implementing,
maintaining, and monitoring IT security measures across the
organization. This role involves reviewing and assessing security
vulnerabilities in customer applications.Scope of Work
- 3 to 4 years of directly related experience.
- Over 3 years of advanced computer expertise.
- Over 3 years of IT network security knowledge and
implementation experience (e.g., firewalls, secure
topologies/architectures, SIEM tools, intrusion detection,
Microsoft and UNIX OS security).
- Over 3 years of experience with MS Office Professional tools,
security incident/forensics, and system administration for Unix
and/or Microsoft systems, including system baseline
configurations.
- Knowledge of IT security policies, standards development, and
POA&M tracking and remediation.
- Familiarity with Websense configuration/maintenance, SIEM
configuration, anti-malware tools, Check Point firewall, wireless
network security testing, and Federal Security regulations is
preferred.Skills and attributes include being results-driven, open

- Handling confidential matters.

- Applying data analytics.Qualifications and Experience
- 5 to 7 years of directly related experience.
- 1 to 2 years of operational and/or technical business
leadership experience.
- Over 5 years of experience in IT network security
implementation.
- Over 5 years of experience in system administration of Unix and
Microsoft systems, including security incident/forensics.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in system baseline configurations,
security policy development, and POA&M
tracking.EducationBachelor's degree and/or relevant technical
training and certifications. CISSP, CISM, and/or CISA
certifications are required. CCNP, MCSE, or equivalent
certifications are preferred.Length of ExperienceThe minimum total
work experience required is 4 years, encompassing related areas or
similar work experience providing the necessary background for this
role.
