Affairs & Policy intern will be responsible for assisting with
issue-area research, legislative tracking and monitoring, and
completing ad-hoc projects as they arise. They will compile and
summarize material on emerging and existing regulations relevant to
Eisai and suggest topics for the company-wide monthly newsletter.
They will attend meetings/hearings and provide a concise report on
relevant topics. Finally, the intern will assist administratively
with external stakeholder engagements and attend sponsored events
during and after work hours as needed.This position is office-based
in Washington, DC. Candidates must be local to the area.Essential
Functions:
- Assist with issue-area research, policy positions, and
historical background resources
- Develop and draft newsletter topics important to the industry
and our business
- Monitor for appropriate government agency meetings and
briefings
- Attend meetings and assist with ad hoc project needs as they
ariseRequirements:Education: Junior/rising junior or Senior/rising
senior. Must be enrolled in college at the time of the internship
with coursework/major in policy, government/political science, or a
related field
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative, manage a
variety of tasks, and complete projects
- Capacity to prioritize and manage project work for both
short-term and long-term projects
- Demonstrated interest in health policy and advocacy
- Strong research, writing, communications skills
- Attention to detail
- Desire to learn more about the legislative policy process,
advocacy coalitions, trade associations, and government
agencies
- Understanding of and passion for Eisai's hhc mission
- Comfort with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and
TeamsSchedule: Expected hours are -9a-5pm; some after-hour events
may be included. Must have the ability to be in-office, with some
flexibility for hybrid work. Must have capacity for some
after-hours receptions and/or briefings. Suggested length of
internship, approximately 10 weeks over the summer (flexible based
