We currently have a client in Silver Spring, MD looking for a Post Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse!Focus Staff is seeking a traveling Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN to care for patients who are waking up from anesthesia after surgery.Contract Assignment - 13 Weeks (Temporary)Shift: 3x12 DaysRewards: (PACU RN Benefits)

  • AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
  • BSN from accredited nursing program, and proper licensure
  • Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients, and families

    • Monitor patient vital signs as they wake from anesthesia
    • Treat pain, nausea, and other patient post-op symptoms and any side effects of anesthesia
    • Comfort patients as they wake up after surgery
    • Work with an interdisciplinary medical team
    • Document and keep the team informed of the patient's progress
    • Educate the patient and family on post-surgery care
    • All other responsibilities as needed
