Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is seeking PhD- or PsyD-trained psychologists with a clinical, counseling, or community psychology background to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client in the Washington DC Metro Area (i.e., the DMV). If selected, this would be for a full-time position providing psychological health research focusing on the areas of psychological health promotion, early intervention, and outreach. We seek a strong mental health / psychological scientist with a research and/or policy background for this position. The selected candidate will evaluate, translate, and disseminate best clinical practices to support and promote access to mental health services; and may inform the development of clinical resources and other psychoeducational materials for providers, patients, and their families. Specifically, the individual will be involved with a team conducting literature and systematic reviews to identify and address barriers to seeking mental health care for those in the military community, which includes a strong focus on stigma reduction; and may also be asked to support the identification, review, dissemination and adoption of evidence-based, innovative approaches to advancing the psychological health of those in the military community. The successful candidate will also have some prior experience in assessing and treating psychological conditions of most relevance to the military (e.g., PTSD, adjustment disorders, depression, etc.). This is not a care delivery position. Key Responsibilities: + Perform systematic and/or literature reviews, analyze and interpret findings to produce written evidence-based artifacts (e.g., briefings, manuscripts, white papers, blog posts, position papers, etc.) on psychological health related topics. Ensure conclusions and interpretations are informed and validated by reliable, valid data. + Provide expert consultation and support on the design and implementation of ongoing efforts within the PHCoE. Conduct systematic reviews of the leading literature base, evaluations of existing programs, and research demonstrations to evaluate service delivery programs. + Provide expert consultation to support the DoD integrated strategy for prevention and early intervention of mental health conditions. + Provide mental/behavioral health subject matter expertise to other PHCoE project teams developing/maintaining clinical support tools or evaluating the currency of existing DoD mental health-related policies and guidelines. + Apply mental health and research expertise in supporting the evaluation of existing programs, report on evaluation results, and recommend changes as applicable. + Participate in working groups assembled to develop guidelines for, or suggest policy changes to, programs related to psychological health promotion and to reducing barriers that may inhibit help-seeking behaviors. + Provide meeting logistics and facilitation support as necessary. This may include, but not be limited to, scheduling meetings, providing read ahead materials to attendees, and developing / distributing meeting minutes. + Support ongoing policy review and stigma reduction efforts by reviewing military policies to identify and respond to potentially stigma-increasing language and recommend stigma-neutralizing language changes. Offer training and education to team members without mental health experience to support team review efforts and review proposed policy language changes for accuracy and appropriateness. Interface with PHCoE and Service leadership to deliver language changes and incorporate stakeholder feedback. + Assist in completion of day-to-day operations to ensure policies and procedures are followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that services and projects are being accomplished effectively and efficiently. + Ability to obtain a clearance if needed. + Able to work in the US indefinitely without sponsorship. Minimum Qualifications: + Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology or a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical, Counseling, Community Psychology or other relevant applied psychological discipline. + Junior positions require at least three solid years of relevant mental health experiences while more senior positions require 10+. + Demonstrated background in literature reviews, systematic reviews, and metrics is a must. + Demonstrated experience in the implementation, evaluation, or research of community or clinical psychology interventions focused on an area of psychological health affecting the military community (e.g., operational stress, suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention, PTSD, etc.). + Strong written and oral communication skills required to translate evidence to practice for broad based uptake + Ability to communicate directly with peers, managers, and clients while leading product development to a completed and successful solution. + Strong organization skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of clients' timelines and budgets. This position is expected to support more than one PHCoE project or activity at a time. + US Citizenship is required for this role Preferred Experience: + Experience working in, or with, Department of Defense (DoD) or other federal agencies is an asset, but not a requirement. + Experience conducting meta-analysis or evidence grading techniques as applied to psychological health interventions/treatments. + Publication(s) in scholarly journals. + Prior experience supporting federal service contracts.
