Job Description CASA & CASA IN ACTION SYNOPSIS:CASA's mission is to create a more just society by building power and improving the quality of life in working class and immigrant communities. CASA has a sister organization, CASA in Action, a separate, but related, nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Although CASA and CASA in Action share a common goal of supporting immigrants and low-income people in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia, and nationally, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors. A set of employees at the two organizations, including the person filling this position, shares their time between the two organizations. This has no effect on salary or benefits.DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS:The Health and Human Services Department responds to the needs of low-income Latinos and other immigrants and their families, utilizing service provision models that promote building the power of the immigrant community. This includes health education and improved access to screening and treatment services. Our model of education utilizes popular education methodology to train community health promoters whom their peers trust. CASA also addresses the need for improved access to preventative and primary health care by providing a multilingual telephone and walk-in health and social service navigation program designed to inform community members of available services, and help them enroll in the public or community benefit programs for which they are eligible. Additionally, CASA provides medical interpreting services for limited English speakers and partners with local health departments to combat the spread of infectious diseases and chronic illnesses disproportionately impacting the Latino and immigrant community. POSITION SUMMARY:Coordinate vaccination efforts and manages COVID response with emphasis on vaccine events, ensuring best practices in vaccination, and monitors systems to ensure safe vaccination administration.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and work as a team with clinical partners run smooth, organized, and successful vaccine events ensuring no doses are wasted at the end of the clinic.
  • Train staff on COVID-19 related topics
  • Coordinate with HHS team and other CASA departments to support other community member needs identified during COVID-19 vaccine activities
  • Coordinate with HHS Director, clinical partners, Vaccine Equity Taskforce, Promotores de Salud, CASA staff, and other partners on logistics and calendar of vaccine events
  • Establishes relationships with businesses and community organizations to coordinate vaccine events
  • Responsible for tracking covid-19 vaccine events and related data management
  • Together with HHS Director, monitors and evaluates project protocols and procedures. Makes appropriate adjustments in program and strategy to appropriately fit the target population.
  • Provide quality customer service, interactions and responses to all members, partner organizations, vendors, visitor, callers and any other individual or organization you may encounter in your role with CASA.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assignedEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
    • Bachelor's Degree, Degrees, or expertise in the area of community health or related fields preferred.
    • Valid US Driver's License and a reliable vehicleKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
      • Working experience in popular education, social work, community health or equivalent experience.
      • Minimum five years of experience in community programs coordination or public health
      • Experience in working with community partners
      • Minimum two years' prior experience working with the Latino community or within a multi-ethnic environment
      • Deep commitment to social change and to growing CASA as a membership organization in which members have decision-making authority.
      • Excellent writing and speaking skills.
      • Strong interpersonal communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
      • Bilingual English/Spanish is required; French is a plus.
      • Knowledge of resources for information and referral in area.
      • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel and other databases, and willingness to learn other needed computer programs.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
      • Highly organized and able to manage multiple ongoing projects.
      • Quick learner and possess the ability to prioritize in stressful situations.
      • Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle changing situations and walk-in and phone requests.
