Job Description:

Seeking self-motivated, personable Medical Receptionist for our Silver Spring and Hyattsville location. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-known, multi-physician/location Eye Care Center and build upon existing skills for career advancement as you grow with the company.


The ideal candidate is required to have strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and the desire to deliver excellent Patient Care with a positive outlook.


Present a professional/knowledgeable atmosphere for working with patients on a daily basis


Maintain patient confidentiality


Answer a multi-line phone system to assist patients and distribute messages to proper departments


Schedule patient appointments, collecting all pertinent demographic information


Verify insurance benefits for patients appointments


Check-in and check out patients, collecting all applicable copays, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts; accurately post payments daily


Utilize the patient portal for the distribution of medical records


File/fax/scan dictations, clinical information, etc.


Process medical records requests


Obtain proper referrals from PCP when needed


Run reports and reconcile daily batches


Other duties as needed


Experience & Education:


Medical/Office experience a plus


Medical billing experience not needed but preferred


Additional education, training or college degree is preferred


High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
