Health to find a qualified Pediatrics RN in Washington, Washington
DC, 20017! Job Title: Pediatric Stepdown RN Profession: Registered
Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night
Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years of
experience required; pediatric experience preferred License: Must
have valid RN license prior to start date Certifications: BLS/CPR
required; CPN or pediatric rehab certification preferred Must-Have:
Experience with medically complex pediatric patients preferred
Strong assessment and communication skills Comfortable supervising
CNAs, LPNs, and PCAs as needed Willingness to float within scope to
similar pediatric rehab/inpatient/SNF units Description: The
Pediatric Stepdown RN provides specialized nursing care for
pediatric patients in a stepdown setting. The nurse will care for
patients with complex medical needs, including cardiac,
respiratory, neurological, and developmental disorders. The typical
nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 on the stepdown unit and 1:4 when
supervising PCA staff. Patients may require medical management,
rehabilitation services, and education for families and caregivers.
Experience with ventilators, central lines, and pediatric dosage
calculations is essential. Nurses will collaborate with an
interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for
each patient. The position requires strong clinical skills and the
ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Occasional weekend
shifts may be required based on facility needs. The use of
electronic charting systems is essential for documenting patient
care. The RN must maintain infection control standards and adhere
