$29.50 Job Summary The Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) acts as a
skilled caregiver for residents during their scheduled shifts in
long-term care settings. This role requires a high level of
expertise as a certified nursing assistant and involves supporting
other staff members as necessary. The NA is responsible for
delivering resident-focused nursing care and assisting with daily
living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN).
This includes understanding and addressing the physical and
psychological needs of residents according to their care plans. As
a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is accountable for
adhering to infection prevention protocols and the proper use of
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position often involves
supporting other clinical staff while managing individual
responsibilities and leading problem-solving efforts. Key
responsibilities include: Assisting with essential health care
needs, including daily living tasks such as bathing, toileting,
grooming, dressing, and recording vital signs. Providing
psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents.
Helping residents with mobility, including transferring,
repositioning, and walking, using appropriate techniques and
equipment. Facilitating range of motion and passive exercises.
Contributing to food preparation and dining experiences, ensuring a
positive atmosphere during meals. Documenting resident interactions
and care outcomes, including behavior, activity, and dietary needs.
Communicating any changes in residents' conditions or care concerns
to the charge nurse. Collecting non-invasive body fluid samples and
vital signs. Providing housekeeping and laundry services to
maintain clean living environments. Assisting with wellness and
recreational programs, encouraging resident participation.
Participating in departmental committees and task forces as needed.
Completing tasks related to the Restorative Nursing program,
including documentation and scheduling. Qualifications High school
diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not
mandatory. Minimum age requirement of 16 years. Preferred two years
of clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care. Must
possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the
State Board of Nursing. Completion of annual department-specific
competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits,
with a minimum of 12 hours required each year. Must maintain all
required department-specific certifications. Completion of
Restorative Nursing training may be required within six months. For
applicable states, certification and registration with the
Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be necessary. This
role may require classification as a Sanford Category II Driver,
necessitating a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver’s
license, along with medical qualifications to perform essential
driving functions as per organizational policy. Benefits Our
