Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts in a 3x12 schedule • Every other weekend coverage required • 13-week assignment duration • 4:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends • 24 hours of orientation provided • Must have active VA or Compact License in hand at submission • 2 years of RN experience required • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS • Strong cardiac telemetry/stepdown experience with chest tube and dysrhythmia management required • Experience working with cardiovascular stepdown patients and telemetry monitoring • Must complete EPIC training class based on experience level • Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1st - March 31st) • Smoke/nicotine free facility • Up to 7 hours of non-billable modules required during orientation • Care for post-cardiac surgery patients transitioning from ICU • Manage complex cardiac patients including post-MI, cardiac catheterization, and cardiac surgery patients • Skills include titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, chest tube management, and dysrhythmia interpretation Facility: This healthcare facility operates a specialized cardiovascular stepdown unit that provides intermediate care for post-cardiac surgery patients transitioning from the ICU. The facility maintains high standards for cardiac care with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The 21-bed cardiovascular unit focuses on advanced cardiac monitoring and specialized post-surgical care with state-of-the-art telemetry capabilities.
