Practice Centers (FFPC) is an independent family medical practice,
established over 50 years ago. With nine offices in Fairfax,
Loudoun, and Prince William Counties and a dedicated team of
primary care providers and staff, we have a rich history of
providing exceptional patient-centered medical care to our
community. Position Summary: The Clinical Supervisor position
serves as a liaison between clinical staff, physicians, other
office staff, and leadership team. Is responsible for the
administration and application of all clinical nursing functions,
procedures, and protocols. Is responsible for the application of
and contribution toward meeting the goals and objectives of Fairfax
Family Practice Centers. Essential Duties: Performs a variety of
patient care and administrative activities to assist providers.
Assists in the delivery of primary health care and patient care
management. Participates in team huddles or other established team
communication. Supports identifying patients’ health education
needs and communicates to the team during huddles or meetings to
guide patient encounters. Prepares patients for examination and
treatment by taking the patient’s history and vital signs.
Instructs patient in basic testing requirements (i.e., PFTs, clean
catch urines, and fingersticks). Supplies provider with necessary
forms and information to accomplish visit. Prepares exam and
treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, according
to policy and procedure manual and/or as instructed. Cleans up exam
and treatment and rooms after patient encounter. Sets up for
sterile procedures. Verifies chief complaint. Maintains and
restocks every exam room as needed. Performs all in-house labs and
procedures. Performs routine blood draws in the office. Performs
patient interviews as it pertains to the reason for the patient’s
visit. Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and
reaction to drugs and treatments to physician. Maintains timely
flow of patients. Assists with clinical procedures done by
providers in the office as needed. Performs IV starts once
phlebotomy class is passed. Performs medication administration upon
completion of the medication test. Responds to patient messages and
prescription refills. Participates in new patient orientation.
Addresses patient phone calls in a timely and efficient manner,
forwarding them to the provider when necessary. Gives advice to
patients over the phone when appropriate, or forwards to provider
to obtain the answer and call patient back. Responds to triage
phone calls Assesses the patient’s medical condition and determines
if patient needs to be seen by a provider or another facility.
Assists with chronic care management. Provides education to
patients utilizing educational materials and addressing chronic
conditions and health maintenance. Coordinates counseling, when
necessary, for patients. Evaluates clinical outcomes by reviewing
clinical decision support tools on a regular basis and takes action
per established primary team goals. Assists with training new
clinical staff members based upon their job description.
Responsible for the administration and application of all clinical
nursing functions, procedures, and protocols. Responsible for the
application of and contribution to the goals and objectives set by
Fairfax Family Practice Centers. Conducts competency training for
all clinical staff. Performs employee evaluations for all clinical
staff. Implements disciplinary actions according to the guidelines
set by FFPCS. Conducts new employee interviews for vacant or newly
created clinical positions. Handles patient concerns. Maintains an
awareness of the financial aspect of the practice. Organizes and
conducts clinical team meetings. Conducts in-services, as needed,
to keep clinical staff up to date on medical information, as well
as further their medical knowledge. Maintains a current
understanding of medicine. Provides a safe work environment.
Implements and maintains OSHA regulations. Resolves IT issues as
needed. Participates in Quality Assurance activities. Performs
other relevant tasks and duties as assigned, consistent with the
responsibilities outlined above. Requirements: Basic Skills and
Competencies: Demonstrates a professional demeanor. Maintains

office specific policies and procedures. Maintains patient

manner. Computer Skills: Ability to learn specific job-related
software applications and other company supported computer
applications. Experience with EMR applications. Demonstrated
knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office Products. Basic
email and internet skills. Special Skills: Knowledge of primary
care office environments. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment procedures.
Ability to react in emergent situations. Knowledge of and ability
to comply with all HIPAA, CMS, and OSHA standards. Experience with
workflow management and clinical operations. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze
workflow, implement improvements, and monitor performance metrics.
Ability to train and mentor clinical staff. Well-versed in
problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Minimum
Qualifications: Education: An RN degree, graduate from an
accredited college or university. Experience: At least one year’s
experience in a medical office practice or hospital setting.
Experience in primary care practice preferred; supervisory
experience preferred. Certificate/License: A current and
unencumbered Registered Nurse and current CPR/BLS required. Working

pounds. Reliable transportation is required. Requires corrected
vision and hearing of normal levels. The noise level in the work
environment is usually moderate. Working hours consist of 40 hours
per week but may occasionally require more.
