Job Description Job Description Hope House is looking to fill
some of its TA positions with individuals that can provide
compassionate care for our patients. PAST APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED
TO RE-APPLY! Multiple positions available, especially for evening
(3p-11p) shifts at our Laurel location. JOB SUMMARY: Under the
direction of the Treatment Aide Supervisor, this individual is
responsible for providing assistance to the nursing, housekeeping,
maintenance, and counseling departments. TREATMENT AIDE JOB DUTIES:
• Ensures facility security and patient safety and security •
Conduct and facilitate fire drills on a monthly per basis per
shift, and recording the results for corporate compliance standards
• Checking and maintaining clear stairwells and fire escapes, each
shift, for accessibility • Completing building rounds on each shift
to ensure patient/client compliance with program guidelines and
safety issues • Correct identified problems when possible, getting
a supervisors intervention where needed • Report problems which
require additional help for resolution • Co-facilitates Community
Meetings, EFC/Halfway House meetings with counselor, associate
counselor, or nurse on duty as requested. • Assists in admission,
discharge, and transfers of all patients. • Assist in new patient
orientation through providing appropriate level of care booklets. •
Monitors patient behavior as per written guidelines. o Consults
with on-duty nurse and counselors as needed, interviews where
appropriate o Reports problems to proper authorities, supervisors,
and/or managers for inclusion in requisite report such the Behavior
Log or the Shift Report. • Responsible for completing variety of
Infection Control activities: o Weekly monitoring of food
temperatures and kitchen cleanliness (11-7) o Assist in terminal
cleaning of patient rooms o Supervise patient chores o Discharge
laundry o Complete daily room rounds for cleanliness (7-3) o
Reviews Room Check Variance for satisfactory completion by patients
• Participates in Crisis Intervention /Emergency preparedness by: o
Restocks all first aid kits and emergency boxes, excluding
medications, monthly (11-7) o Recognizing and intervening in
potentially suicidal and/or violent behaviors o Remain current with
CPR o Provide guidance and assistance to patients in all evacuation
procedures o Respond to patient emergencies appropriately • Assists
in or directly transports patients to outside meetings or
appointments o Maintains vehicle log and a valid driver’s license •
Collects urine samples as requested and in accordance with Hope
House policies and procedures • Documents building rounds and
absences from facility in the facility log book for each shift, as
direct by supervisor • Interacts with patients in a professional
manner; demonstrating positive behaviors and serving as a role
model for behavior change • Communicates effectively and in a
timely manner with co-workers o Attends and participates in shift
report with team members • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent •
Preferred experience in addiction or acute inpatient settings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are
representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or
hear. The employee is often required to stand and walk.
