Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leader in patient-first healthcare in the DMV
area, is seeking a dedicated Dietitian II to join our dynamic team.
This role focuses on developing nutritional plans, counseling our
diverse patient base, and working collaboratively with other
healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes. The
successful candidate will provide expert nutritional consultations,
support disease management, and contribute to our ongoing research
and educational initiatives. This position requires a deep
understanding of dietetics and excellent interpersonal skills to
meet the unique needs of each patient. Assess nutritional needs,
diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and
implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine
nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patients. Monitor
patient outcomes and adjust meal plans as needed. Document patient
care services by charting in patient and department records.
Educate patients and their families on nutritional principles,
dietary plans and diet modifications, food selection and
preparation. Conduct research to improve clinical nutritional
services and contribute to the professional development initiatives
of the department. Expert knowledge of clinical nutrition and
dietetics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent
verbal and written communication abilities. Proficient in dietary
assessment tools and software. Ability to work collaboratively in a
multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Dietitian
Nutritionist (RDN) credential required. Licensed Dietitian in the
state of Maryland, or eligible for licensure.
