MedStar Health, a leader in delivering patient-first care in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated Infection Preventionist to join our renowned healthcare team. This position is crucial for ensuring high standards of infection control and prevention across our facilities. The Infection Preventionist will develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention protocols and policies, conduct surveillance, and provide expert guidance on infection prevention to staff. This role is integral to maintaining the safety and health standards that MedStar Health is known for in the community. Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures. Conduct regular surveillance to track infection trends within the facility. Educate and train healthcare staff on infection prevention practices. Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage outbreaks and implement corrective actions. Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives related to infection prevention. Report and collaborate with local, state, and federal health authorities as necessary. Strong understanding of epidemiology and infectious diseases. Ability to analyze and synthesize data for reporting and decision-making purposes. Proficient in using infection surveillance software. Excellent communication and training skills. Capability to adhere to and evangelize strict hygiene and infection control standards. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
