Belvoir, Virginia CADUCEUS Healthcare , is actively recruiting for ER Physicians to provide services at Fort Belvoir. If you looking for a slower pace or a place to keep up your ER skills this state of the art facility is a great place to work. Malpractice with a tail is covered. The ER operates 24 hours per day Sunday through Saturday through the year. Hours: Mostly weekend 10 hour shift On-Call Requirements (Days/Hours) No Call-Back Requirements (anticipated) No REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Must have a M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited university or medical school in the United States or Canada. Foreign medical graduate physicians shall possess a valid certificate from the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates. ABEM certified Certifications/Licensure Must have and maintain an active, valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Virginia . If not present, must be able to acquire within 45 days. Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration. Must be Residency trained and have/maintain Board Certification in Emergency Medicine. The Ft. Belvoir ER Department is a teaching environment, and as such, Emergency Physicians with academic experience including the teaching and evaluation of residents, medical students, nurse practitioners and physician assistants is preferred. Have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. ACLS, ATLS, PALS is not required for Board Certified ER Physicians. SPECIFIC TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES Contract physicians performing services under this contract shall have sufficient experience to be able to adequately diagnose and treat diseases/injuries; perform medical procedures/tasks to include, but not limited to the following: diseases and/or injuries related to: Skin, Head, Eyes, Ears, Nose, Nose/Throat, Neck, Cardiovascular System, Gastrointestinal System, Lymphatic System, Musculoskeletal System, Genitourinary System, Reproductive System, Psychiatric Disease, Central Nervous System, Endocrine System, and Peripheral Nervous System. At times, serve as the sole provider of medical treatment in the ER during a scheduled shift. The contract provider shall be fully aware that, other than ancillary and support personnel, he or she shall be fully prepared to provide all of the emergency services required without assistance or supplementation by other facility physicians. Unless affected by circumstances beyond his or her control, the ER physician is expected to see an average of 2-3 patients per hour. Diagnose and treat anomalies and specific pathologic conditions of brain and spine; order a wide range of tests to include use of MRI, CT scan and other radiology procedures; EEG, EMG and nerve conduction studies; neuromuscular balance; depth perception procedures; or other diagnostic tests for neurological impairment; use of diagnostic drugs or any clinically approved method for the evaluation of nervous system. Perform medical profiling within specialty to include the determination of fitness for induction, retention, special military training, and/or duty; evaluates and performs all necessary tests that deal with the nervous system portion of physical exams to include medical evaluation board physicals.
