Job Description Human Resources Generalist - Silver Spring, MD
Nexight Group is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Generalist to build
out its HR and recruiting infrastructure. This is a new position
and a hands-on role that will provide full-cycle human resources
support to Nexight employees. The HR Generalist will engage in a
wide range of HR tasks, including employee relations, talent
acquisition, policy and process development, and employment law
compliance. The successful candidate will help grow Nexight's HR
and recruiting infrastructure, in some areas from scratch, and own
the recruiting pipeline. Because the HR Generalist will support
senior company leadership's efforts to define and grow Nexight's
unique, inclusive culture, ideal candidates should be passionate
about company culture, and exhibit high EQ. Nexight Group is a
small technical and management consulting firm working for a
variety of clients in many topic areas. Adaptability, critical
thinking, and genuine curiosity are all equally important to skills
and subject matter expertise. Objectives of the Role Applicants
should have the necessary skills to perform the following job
responsibilities:[1] --- Evaluate the company's current
HRIS/benefits platforms and identify areas for improvement ---
Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and
applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures
as required --- Conduct and improve a performance and compensation
review cycle, process for promotion, and monitoring of compensation
equity and career tracks --- Execute and improve the employee
onboarding/offboarding processes --- Create and manage all job
requisitions and direct role sourcing --- Collaborate with hiring
managers to understand the needs and roles to be filled and be
fully responsible for the recruitment process from beginning to end
--- Manage annual employee survey process and make recommendations
for improvements based on observed trends --- Manage and administer
internal employee training program --- Collaborate on diversity,
inclusion, and belonging to ensure alignment with the overall
people, business, and goals --- Comfortably speak in public and
address employees in an all-hands setting regarding policies,
procedures, and changes to benefits --- Conduct exit interviews,
analyze data for trends, and make recommendations for change ---
Undertake other duties or tasks as assigned by the Director of
Accounting & Administration --- Suggest new procedures and policies
to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and
organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience Work
location will be in Silver Spring, MD, but some telework and
flexible scheduling may be permitted. Skills and Qualifications
Minimum --- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
experience --- 3-10 years of related experience --- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills, including presentation
skills --- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability
to meet deadlines --- Ability to act with integrity,
professionalism, and confidentiality --- Strong interpersonal and
conflict management skills --- Proven ability to build strong
relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders at all
levels --- Familiarity with a variety of HR topics including
medical insurance, 401k, HSA programs, etc. --- Knowledge of
employment-related laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and
policies --- Ability to acquire an understanding of the
organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation
practices, and their related administrative practices ---
Experience developing and revising job descriptions, as well as
screening applicants and selecting qualified candidates to move
forward in the interview process --- Experience identifying and
implementing efficient and effective recruiting methods and
strategies based on available roles, industry standards, and
organizational needs --- Familiarity and awareness of modern
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion methods Preferred --- Master's
degree in human resources --- SHRM-SCP Certification Why Nexight
