Summary: The TechnicalInformation Specialist establishes and maintains procedures for adhering toperformance metrics and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Duties andResponsibilities:Providescomprehensive reference, research, and information services support to aresearch team in response to requests for information related to health,toxicological, behavioral, or physiologic effects of tobacco products and theirconstituents, ingredients, components, and additives.Plans, develops,and maintains computer- based files used for storage and retrieval oftoxicological and environmental information of national and internationalscope.Providescomprehensive reference, research, and information services support to aresearch team in response to request.Preparesliterature searches and bibliographies on a diversity of topics using a widevariety of bibliographic databases in health and life sciences that areavailable at the FDA.Provides atechnical role in the planning, developing, managing and evaluation ofall activities related to the development of a CTP system for the capture,management, storage and retrieval of tobacco industry research documents.Other duties asassigned MinimumQualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.) High school DiplomaBachelor---s degree inscience or information management coursework, desirable At least three (3)years of experience in an office environment with a records managementbackground is required. Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:Must havedemonstrated oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, aworking knowledge with the standard Microsoft suite of products, and experiencein working areas such as document tracking databases, digital imaging andmicrographics. Demonstrated dataentry skills and attention to detail is required.Musthave experience with reading and classifying scientific regulatory documents.
