Job Description:
Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the Data Center Night Chief
Engineer within our DCC Communities department. In this critical
role, you will oversee the night-time operations and maintenance of
one of the world's largest and most complex data centers. Your
primary goal will be to ensure optimal operational conditions of
our IT infrastructure under all circumstances, with a focus on
safety, efficiency, and minimal downtime. Oversee and improve
operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems
within the data center. Manage a team of engineers and technicians,
ensuring thorough training and adherence to safety protocols.
Conduct regular system tests and inspections to verify the
integrity and availability of all hardware and infrastructure
components. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC
systems, electrical circuits, and other infrastructure components.
Implement and monitor energy-saving measures to minimize
operational costs while maintaining system reliability. Develop and
enforce strict operational policies, standards, and safety
procedures. Report on night shift activities and incidents,
providing comprehensive feedback and strategic recommendations to
senior management. Proven expertise in managing data center
infrastructure including HVAC, power distribution, and backup
systems. Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and
motivate a technical team. Robust problem-solving skills with a
track record in troubleshooting complex technical issues. Excellent
organizational and communication skills. Capability to work under
pressure and manage emergencies effectively. Medical Insurance
