This position is in anticipation of a vacancy award.
Seeking a Senior Research Scientist to perform routine and
delegated duties for a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) clinical
investigation program within the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury
Center (DVBIC) in Silver Spring, Maryland. The TBI program is a
15-year congressionally mandated and multi-phase study, which
considers diverse psychosocial and neurobiological risk and
protective factors for TBI. Responsibilities will include:
Perform all routine and delegated assignments with little or no
Maximize the use of office/institutional resources as it relates
to the 15-year study.
Consult effectively and efficiently with leadership and other
staff members to successfully execute duties as program
Coordinate the decision-making process between all program
Facilitate information flow between program members, scientific
directors, and others within DVBIC.
Provide advice on personnel issues, manpower utilization, work
flow, and operational procedures to increase efficiency,
productivity, and makes overall improvements for the program.
Assist with the development and formulation of budget requests
for various projects.
Review space utilization within the program and makes
Assist with the preparation of requests for new clinical
Required Skills Bachelor's Degree in Management/HR required, MBA
Minimum of 4 to 6 years experience in program management
Knowledge of the federal budget process required.
Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care strongly
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to use office automation and coordinate many complex
systems and programs at the same time required.
Ability to work independently and use of sound judgment in
solving problems are required
