Senior System Engineer (Linux/DevOps) at Children's National

Description As a Senior System Engineer (Linux/DevOps), you will
provide Linux Systems Life Cycle Management to 300+ systems
(virtual and physical) at Children’s National, such as managing
Linux operating systems (CentOS, RHEL, OracleLinux and Ubuntu),
managing Centrify for user account AD integration, performing
security hardening to meet standards and compliance such as CIS
benchmark and vulnerability remediation, optimizing system
operations and resource utilization, maintaining configuration
management using Red Hat Ansible and GitLab, and performing system
capacity analysis and planning. You will also be responsible for
managing the enterprise automation platform, identifying
opportunities to automate operational activities, deploying
automation tools and Ansible playbooks to optimize daily
activities, maintaining AWS Infrastructure as Code (IaC) library
and relevant documentations for Version Control and high-quality
deployment artifacts. As a member of this team, you will
participate in organizational service management processes, such
Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management and
Release Management and provide support to day-to-day operations,
monitoring and problem resolution when needed. You will also
participate in the team on-call rotation.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in
Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
2 years of experience in Linux systems engineering or
Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of experience in configuration
management tools (e.g. Ansible)
1+ years of experience in implementing Cloud based DevOps
practices and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation,
AWS CLI, JSON)
Good understanding of AWS Compute, Storage, Networking, Security
and IAM concepts and principles.
1+ years of experience in virtual platforms like Vmware
1+ years of experience in HPC engineering or administration
Good understanding of HPC scheduling software (e.g. GridEngine,
or SLURM), parallel filesystems (e.g. GPFS, Lustre), and
Interconnects (e.g., Infiniband, OmniPath).
Any Industry certification is a plus (CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, MCSE,
VCP, LPI-3, RHCSA, RHCE, Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible
Automation, AWS Associate Level)
