The Office of Clinical Evidence and Analysis (OCEA), Division of Clinical Evidence and Analysis 1 (DCEA1) in the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) is searching for an Epidemiologist. DCEA1 provides program/policy support for clinical evidence and regulatory oversight of medical devices to include biostatistical and epidemiologic analyses, development of data infrastructure, outreach and partnerships, and expertise on clinical investigations and real-world evidence. HOW TO APPLY: Applicants must apply through the official USAJOBS Epidemiologist job vacancy announcement. / SALARY: GS-14; with a salary range of $122,530 to $159,286 per year LOCATION: FDA's White Oak Campus in Silver Spring, Maryland MAJOR DUTIES: As an Epidemiologist, the incumbent will: Develop public health policy and objectives, appraise programs, and initiate requirements for various post marketing epidemiological studies. Evaluate data collection, perform data quality assessments, identify inadequacies and limitations of data and data utilization methods used to study epidemiological problems and issues. Review and approve the substance of reports, decisions, case documents, contracts, or other action documents to ensure that policies accurately reflect the position at the organization and the views of the Agency. Ensure that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be required to meet the specific qualification requirements of the General Health Science Series (0601) occupational series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: you must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service that includes experience: Reviewing quality, clinical, scientific, and other data in support of a variety of medical device and radiological health programs; Advising on the adequacy of research study documentation, protocols, epidemiologic methodologies, data analyses, medical device evaluation and/or interpretations of results; And managing, directing or overseeing the work of a team or working group or leading a project.
