White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Education Specialist, Critical Care Services, Registered Nurse (RN) for our Professional Practice and Development Department, who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The Nurse Education Specialist reports directly to the Director of Professional Practice and Development and is responsible for facilitating the professional development and lifelong learning activities of nurses to enhance their professional competence and role performance (ANA, NNSPO, 2010). The Education Specialist is responsible for managing overall professional development programs, providing relevant education to nurses, maintaining and enhancing clinical competence, fostering a positive outlook on lifelong learning, directing the development of educational activities and planning programs that increase the breadth and depth of nurses' knowledge. The Education Specialist demonstrates professionalism at all times and is an integral part of the nursing leadership team, representing their department at all levels of the organization

  • Educate staff while striving to advance your own knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and

exemplify the Adventist HealthCare values as they fulfill our nursing mission

and vision.

  • Utilize equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties

appropriately to maximize efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of a Bachelor's

Degree required, MSN preferred

  • Valid Maryland RN license required
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and

ACLS required

  • 5 years of current Clinical Specialty in Critical Care

Work Schedule:

Full-time days; 40 hours per week

Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing.
