Job Description CASA & CASA IN ACTION SYNOPSIS: CASA---s mission
is to create a more just society by building power and improving
the quality of life in working class and immigrant communities. Our

for all. CASA has a sister organization, CASA in Action, a
separate, but related, nonprofit organization that is exempt from
federal income tax under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue
Code. Although CASA and CASA in Action share a common goal of
supporting immigrants and low-income people in Maryland,
Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia, and nationally, they are separate
organizations with their own board of directors. A set of employees
at the two organizations, including the person filling this
position, shares their time between the two organizations. This has
no effect on salary or benefits. DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS: CASA---s
Development Department raises funds and in-kind contributions from
foundations, government agencies, individuals, corporations,
congregations, unions, and partner organizations to ensure CASA's
financial sustainability. POSITION SUMMARY: Development Associate
--- Individual Donors and Events - is a key player in a high energy
development department who has responsibility for a diverse
portfolio, including assisting with the acquisition, solicitation,
and stewardship of CASA supporters; assisting with the associated
record-keeping and database management; serving as a liaison with
CASA---s finance team to ensure continuity of financial
information, ensuring retention of all supporters and allies
through engagement and volunteerism and the CASA Ally Network,
assisting with planning and execution of all CASA fundraising
events and representing CASA at events for donors and prospective
donors. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties may include, but are not
limited to, some of the following which are discussed and
prioritized by the employee and supervisor, and reflected in
individual and program annual workplans: Donors and Donor
Retention: Implement individual fundraising program focused on
current donors and new donors for both CASA and CASA in Action (c3
and c4) to include: Responsibilities in this area include but are
not limited to: Direct donor outreach and mass donor outreach via
in-person, targeted mail, email, or other digital messaging
Management of individual giving donor data in our Salesforce and
Everyaction CRM database Developing and maintaining a strong
general knowledge of CASA---s programs and campaigns in order to
better interact with supporters Staffing and support for the CASA
Ally Network donor organizing program, including attending Ally
Network meetings (up to 6 times annually, usually in the evenings)
and assisting with Ally Network chapter newsletters on a monthly
basis Events: Will assist with the planning and execution of all
CASA fundraising Assist with Setting timeline for event planning
and ensure that all deadlines are met Coordinate with Executive
Director, Development and other CASA staff, Board members and
external partners to ensure that all necessary arrangements are
made, and in a timely manner Assist in Drafting sponsorship
materials and prospectus; work with designers and printers to
produce; responsible for overseeing and managing entire sponsorship
solicitation process and supporting full team of development staff,
Executive Director, Board, and CASA staff in obtaining sponsors.
Organize, implement, and attend fundraising events with individuals
such as house parties Administrative and Financial Functions Ensure
timely and accurate deposits of contribution checks and EFTs as per
department financial management procedures (with the assistance of
other development associates) Ensure timely, accurate, and clear
communication with CASA finance department about all relevant
information concerning contributions to CASA, as per dept.
financial management procedures - this primarily consists of weekly
completion of deposit slips and coding new checks and EFT payments
into the Salesforce system. Other duties assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED: Strong project management skills: ability to prioritize
and manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet internal deadlines
with minimal supervision. Experience in development preferred,
including experience in institutional and individual fundraising
and knowledge of fundraising databases. Highly organized and
efficient, high energy ---can-do--- attitude, flexibility,
teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative.
Effective communication skills. Strong ---people skills--- --- able
to communicate professionally and congenially with donors. Able to
write clear, effective proposals, letters, and other documents.
Comfortable asking for and securing gifts. Bachelor---s Degree or
comparable experience Experience working with nonprofit agencies
and/or nonprofit-run businesses a plus Supportive of CASA---s
mission and able to communicate the value of the mission to donors.
Bilingual English/Spanish (written and spoken) preferred. PHYSICAL
